Following on from the success of our Visceral Bodies symposium back in 2023, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the Visceral Bodies Special Issue of Studies in the Maternal journal, Nov 2024!

The special issue features revised versions of papers, creative writing and visual works that were presented, plus brand new contributions from our growing network of practitioners and academics.

The questions that drive our special issue are: What new insights can be gained by attending to bodies and embodied events and practices that are experienced viscerally? What kind of literary forms, what kinds of enunciation and language do we turn to in our attempts to give voice and do justice to these experiences?
